Workshop 1: Healing and Abundance Through A Course in Miracles

This workshop includes a concise teaching followed by a guided meditation to support lived practice through A Course in Miracles.

Overview

In this first workshop of a twelve-part A Course in Miracles series, the foundations of healing and abundance are gently yet thoroughly explored. This session introduces the core ideas of identity as Spirit, the illusion of separation, and the role of forgiveness in undoing fear, guilt, and suffering.

Drawing directly from A Course in Miracles, this workshop explains how the world of fear arises from mistaken perception — and how peace, abundance, and joy are restored through a simple change of mind. Healing is presented not as an effort to fix the world, but as a willingness to correct perception and remember our shared holiness.

Part 1 — The Teaching

A tree is content to be a tree. A dog is satisfied being a dog. A butterfly is whole exactly as it is.

Yet, most human suffering comes from one quiet belief: “I am not enough as I am.”
We strive, struggle, compare, compete, and keep trying on identities—hoping one will finally feel like home. But the restlessness remains.

In A Course in Miracles, this restlessness has a single root: we have forgotten who we are.
We think we are separate bodies, separate minds, living separate lives. And because separation can never satisfy the heart, we keep searching outside ourselves for something that only Spirit can provide.

A Course in Miracles teaches that we are Spirit—One with God and one another.
And the world we perceive through the ego is not ultimate reality. It is a kind of screen: a projection of fear and guilt, maintained by our thoughts.

This is not meant to make life meaningless—it is meant to make healing possible.
If the cause of pain is in the mind, then the mind can be healed. And that means peace is not dependent on circumstances. Peace becomes an inner decision—a change of mind.

As stated in Workbook Lesson 37: My Holiness Blesses the World.

One of the most practical foundations for healing and abundance is this idea:

Holiness is wholeness.
When you remember your wholeness, you stop demanding that the world “complete” you.
Instead, you become a giver of blessings—because love naturally extends.

Such is, the law of love, what we give is what we receive.
So abundance is not something we chase or force. It is something we align with by undoing fear and returning to peace.

Three simple steps

There are 3 simple steps to doing this.

(Extracted from A Course in Miracles, Text Chapter 6: The Lessons of the Holy Spirit)

Here then, are the three simple steps to practice the law of love in daily life, to align with your greatest good and highest abundance — especially when you feel stressed, lacking, triggered or afraid:

1.     Notice you’ve lost your peace.
This is the signal. You don’t need to judge it—just notice: “I don’t feel peace right now.”
Then remember: To have, give all to all.
Even if it’s small, give something: a blessing, patience, gentleness, a quiet willingness.

2.     Release the “getting” mindset.
The ego believes peace comes from getting: approval, security, outcomes, control.
But Spirit needs nothing. So pause and say:
“I don’t know what I need. I’m willing to be shown.”
And practice: To have peace, teach peace to learn it.

3.     Be vigilant only for God and His Kingdom.
This means: stop asking the world to validate you, complete you, or save you.
Drop your case against life. Let people be as they are. Let situations be as they are.
And become watchful only for the presence of Love in you—because that is what is real.

A Course in Miracles reminds us: the ego may speak first—but it doesn’t have to speak last.
Your success is not “never having ego thoughts.”
Your success is recognizing them quickly, and gently choosing once again.

So now, we’re going to move from concept into experience—into a guided meditation designed to help you release burdens, return to inner peace, and remember the Love that is already within you. We are going to unlock our greatest good, highest potential and most abundant life we can have.

Part 2 — Guided Meditation: The Mountain Path

Get comfortable. Allow your eyes to close if you wish.

Breathing (settling the mind)

We’ll breathe in slowly to the count of three, hold for three, and exhale for three.
We’ll do this three times.

Breathe in… 1…2…3
Hold… 1…2…3
Exhale… 1…2…3

Again… inhale… 1…2…3
Hold… 1…2…3
Exhale… 1…2…3

One more time… inhale… 1…2…3
Hold… 1…2…3
Exhale… 1…2…3

Now simply breathe naturally.

Gentle body relaxation

Let your forehead soften.
Unclench your jaw.
Let your shoulders drop.

Allow a warm, golden light to rest on the top of your head…
flowing down through your face… your throat… your shoulders…

Let it move down through your chest… your belly… your hips…
down through your legs… all the way down to your feet.

You are safe. You are supported.
And your mind can become quiet now.

The Mountain Path

In your inner vision, imagine you are standing at the base of a beautiful mountain.
The sun is warm. The air is clear. A gentle breeze moves through the trees.

Ahead is a soft green path—easy to walk, peaceful and welcoming.

Begin walking now… slowly… comfortably…
With each step, you feel lighter… calmer… more at ease.

Up ahead, a great tree comes into view—strong, ancient, protective.
This tree is like a guardian of your inner world.
As you approach, you feel recognized. You feel welcomed.

You pass the tree easily… and just beyond it, you notice a gentle staircase of clouds leading downward—ten soft steps that will guide you deeper within.

Descending inward (10 clouds)

Step onto the first cloud.

One… drifting gently downward… safe and steady.

Two… deeper relaxed… mind quieting.

Three… releasing the outer world.

Four… calm and peaceful.

Five… letting go of effort.

Six… sinking into stillness.

Seven… deeply supported.

Eight… close to your quiet center.

Nine… almost there.

Ten… you step down onto soft ground.

For a moment, there is mist all around you.
This is fine. You are safe here.

Take a slow breath in… and out.

Clearing the altar of the heart

In this sacred inner place, imagine there is an altar—your inner meeting place with God.

And now, you’re going to release everything that blocks peace.

Turn and look behind you.
You see a great, gentle hand—warm, kind, steady—strong enough to carry every burden.

In your own way, begin placing into this hand:
any fear… any tension… any self-judgment…
any regret… any grief… any anger… any worry…
anything you’re tired of carrying.

You don’t need to analyze it.
You don’t need to justify it.
You’re simply letting it go.

Good.

Now watch as the hand gently closes…
and slowly drifts away into the mist…
taking your burdens with it.

Notice how much lighter you feel.

Now place a single white lily on your altar—
a symbol of forgiveness… release… and peace.

Entering the Light

Now you let go of the last heavy identity: the body as “who you are.”
You don’t reject the body—you simply release identification with it.

Imagine yourself as a radiant Light—quiet, present, loving.

You begin walking forward through the mist, the light of your being shining the way.
As you move, the mist thins in response to your presence.
And in the distance, you see a soft, radiant Light shining toward you. It matches your own light in beauty and strength.

You move toward it.

The Light grows clearer… warmer… more familiar…

And now the Light gently surrounds you—
like being held in perfect Love.

Your light joins with this Light.

Rest here.

Allow God’s peace to touch your mind.
You don’t have to do anything.
You simply rest in this state of giving and receiving of Light and Love.

If thoughts come, let them come. Do not judge. Just allow.
If silence comes, let silence be enough.

Returning with peace

Now take a moment to remember:
This peace is not far away.
It lives within you.
And you can return to it—again and again—by willingness, by forgiveness, by choosing peace.

You can return to it any time and any place. It is just a shift in thinking away.

And now, in a moment, you’ll return to ordinary awareness—
bringing this calm with you.

I will count up from one to five, lifting your awareness with each number.
At five, you will open your eyes, feeling clear, peaceful, and present.

One… becoming more aware of your body.
Two… feeling the surface beneath you.
Three… breathing gently, returning.
Four… bringing peace with you.
Five… open your eyes… fully awake… calm and present.

Welcome back. You did beautifully. Thank yourself for this time spent with God, His Peace and His Light. It is a gift to your highest Self that knows no limits in healing and abundance.
